FreeBSD, Firefox 3.5, and Java

Hopefully if you are reading this, you have already read my Firefox 3.6 post.

Firefox 3.5.8

  1. I ran my system update script first
  2. cd /usr/ports/www/firefox35 (the storage location for the firefox 3.5 install)
  3. sudo make config-recursive install clean (initializes the installation preceded by a configuration of Firefox 3.5 and all dependencies, and followed by a cleanup.  this caused make to download the newest version 3.5.9 and do a bunch of building and a couple of other downloads…)
  4. please make sure you installed the linux compatability port

This seemed to work just fine, but java is still not working…  Firefox make config screen did not show anything for java.
